WHICH UK SEASIDE RESORT TO CHOOSE?

Seaside breaks in the UK are the ultimate affordable family holidays. While you can’t always count on the sun; the sand, sea and seaside resort atmosphere make up for it! The hard part however is deciding which coastal spot to head to: 

Skegness 

With a blue flag beach, close proximity to Ingomells and all the trappings of a traditional seaside holiday in the UK, Skegness is an easy choice. Ride the beachfront funfair, gorge on fish and chips or simply settle down for some serious sandcastle building – there’s lots going on at Skegness for fun-filled breaks by the sea. 

Brighton

Blackpool

ENTWINED WITH YOU: Sylvia Day's third of the Crossfire Series

Finally done reading and what can I say? I'm waiting Sylvia for the fourth book, lelz.

I consume practically all sort of reading materials, from 'balot ng tuyo', textbooks, researches, journals, novels of various genre, even Tagalog pocketbooks kung wala na talaga akong mabasa, basta pwedeng mabasa ... lately, I got my brain fried after tasked to do a technical paper on agriculture. I was so dang stressed digging into Scientific names of plants, fungi, antedotes, fertilizers and so much more than a woman's brain could take, so I thought I needed a brain break and headed to National Bookstore, yeah, might be weird a style of relieving stress but it works perfectly well for me. 


I've read reviews of this series at Amazon long before these were released in the Phils. and when I saw Bared to You on the 'latest release' stand I immediately carted it home. I skipped the second book Reflected in you and got contented reading on the spoilers, lol, mahal kaya. But can't miss the third installment so here sharing. 

More than the high definition contact depiction is Sylvia Day's smooth and expressive style of storytelling that got me hooked on this series, not to mention the perfectly flawed characters, Gideon and Eva Cross. I wonder what's Megumi's role in Nathan's death here, I can't wait to have their issues resolve. 

God of the press, let the fourth series out 'Captivated by You', can't wait.

TRUTH ABOUT WOMEN DRUG ADDICTION: WHERE TO SEEK PRO HELP

The National Institutes of Health states on its website (www.nih.gov) that "1) nine million women have used illegal drugs in the past year, 2) 

7 million women have taken prescription drugs nonmedically during the past year, and 3) more than 28,000 (70%) of the AIDS cases among women are drug-related." Furthermore, they state that almost half of women age 15-44 have used drugs during their lifetimes. This means that the woman sitting next to you in the office or at the restaurant could have been one of these women. Your daughter, friend, sister, or even your mother is apt to have been one of these women.

Unfortunately, the public has been subtly conditioned to regard drug abuse as being a male problem. Perhaps that is because observing public media leads people to ignore the usage of illegal and nonmedical prescription drugs by women. Many types of drugs such as crack cocaine and methamphetamines are particularly addictive when used by any person, but women seem not to seek treatment as quickly as men and boys and therefore are likely to be more solidly implanted in the addiction before receiving help.

Drug addiction has side effects that add to the problems of women - depression, mental illness, sexually transmitted diseases, as well as bodily health issues such as vitamin deficiencies, obesity, anorexia, and other mental issues. Social side effects vary from child abuse, neglect, poverty, failure in school or college, and inability to achieve gainful employment.

As social mores become less restrictive, drug and alcohol abuse becomes more prevalent in the general population and in women. Women need to be encouraged to seek counseling and help from qualified counselors and facilities as soon as possible.

It is  unfortunate  that  facts  and  figures  often  do  not  persuade  anyone  to  seek  help  in  drug  addiction.  Even if you are not involved in drugs, you owe a duty to your community and your sisters to advocate knowledge and use of reasonable facilities such as Inspire Malibu. Be sure that you are informed of the signs of drug abuse and addiction and have the courage to suggest that your friends and relatives seek help.

Your high school career should be remembered as an enjoyable experience to reminisce on as the years go by. Of course, the memories aren't exactly great for everyone, which can't really be helped. Many people have unfortunately suffered from years of bullying and anxiety that make for an extremely troublesome way of life.

I was organizing my pink 'kikay' box when I saw these lovelies. I'm not really sure why I bought these back then but somethings telling me, 'you lust on them then, that's why you picked them'. 

This ring was a find at a Marco Polo Christmas Bazaar, the hair clip was scored at a random, I might have been thinking Pocahontas at that time I went to cash out this feather earring, but they're pretty I swear. I have a box of them here and I wonder why I can't find one when I'm looking for one, yeah, women!

TADASHI SHOJI FALL 2013 COLLECTION

If there’s one designer in this planet whose pieces I look forward to seeing every single time - that’ll will be Tadashi Shoji. Other than we share same Asian descent, I’m so drawn to his designs as they speak volume, so easy-going and are so wearable. 

Tadashi Shoji, A Japanese-American designer is well celebrated for his intricate clothing designs that use shape-complimenting techniques such as ruching, draping and modern shutter pleats that works to give positive emphasis on the wearer’s figure. About a year ago, a friend bought me a vintage red off-shoulder cocktail Tadashi, she found it in a store in Ohio and shipped it back home along with other px stuff. I wore it during the Christmas Casino Royale Event of Davao Bloggers and even if I’ve gained weight, thanks to the awesome table bounty in this city, it still hugs perfectly that the cut works its way to cover my flaws. I won’t be surprised as Tadashi Shoji Fashion is designed to work  on all types of women figures, he definitely knows Asian figure as much as he knows the Caucasians.

WHAT TO WEAR ON A GAMING NIGHT OUT

Although the brilliant choice of games and convenience of online gaming has led to the likes of the Lucky Nugget site becoming household names in recent years, there is still something to be said for having a night out at an old-fashioned land-based dice-joint hall. Getting done up to the nines is certainly a big part of the attraction. These tips should enable you to dress right for the kind of night – and Keno – you have in mind. 

For the men, if the gaming club you are visiting for your night out is one of the really flash ones in a big city, you will probably encounter a fairly strict code when it comes to dress. Again you can top off your basic outfit with accessories like a fur stole or jewellery, but you should also bear in mind what sort of weather is likely – as the Las Vegas Strip can be a lot hotter than London or other European cities.

I started blogging in 2007 not as a venue for my creative juices but it was more like an experiment of me and my classmate in my masters’ class, who at that time testing his theory on the ephemerality of self in the cyberspace. 

Call it the work of a diligent, he eventually was able to come up with his manuscript proving his theory that cyborgs in the cyberspace posed mediated layers of identities and that ephemeral selves can be constructed, dissolved and dismissed. 

Over the course of time, having lived as a cyborg myself now I’m beginning to think to debunk his theory on this strong ground; that the present, evolved cyberspace has not implied transitory representation of self but rather a perpetual self that consumes the bytes of cyberspace and that when given venue, the mediated self can turn material and can be as gorgeous as these people …

Today, I just don’t blog because it’s an experiment, cliché as it may seem but I have to discredit my first line, sad to say, because blogging has also become a channel of spilling out my creative juices, and more so, it has become a venue for me to meet wonderful people from different parts of the world that shared same cyber passion as mine. 

Recently, I was able to meet face to face the people behind the blogs. The Manila and Cebu Bloggers were in Davao City for Kadayawan Festival and I was overjoyed to have meet them.The awesome faces behind the popular Philippine Travel Bloggers were equally fantastic, hope to see you guys in one of my lucky days ahead.  It was wonderful sharing stories with people you only click and follow online, fulfilling.

 Lachi's Sans Rival in Davao is definitely without a rival.

Our dinner was hosted by Lachi’s Sans Rival, makers of the most divine desserts in town, their cheesecakes are to die for, you should try it. They also offer several orgasmic home cooked delicacies you can’t taste anywhere but here.

There is something particularly sexy about a man wearing a hat. The airport scene in Casablanca would have lost some of its charming mystique had Humphrey Bogart not been sporting a fedora. Rhett Butler's statement as he leaves Scarlett wouldn't have had the same emphasis minus the action of him jamming a hat on his head. Can you picture Crocodile Dundee bareheaded with no wide brimmed hat embellished by the alligator teeth trimmed band? Would Indiana Jones have had the same allure without his signature modified fedora? Of course not! Or what about Burt Reynold's as the Bandit- when Sally Field tells him to take his hat off- well, we know what that meant!

Hats are more than a fashion statement that make for charismatic hunky heroes. Added to a man's wardrobe they help define their personalities. Ask someone to describe a cowboy and the first thing they say is probably cowboy hat. And who would trust a state trooper without a hat? DARING THE SUN: SALAGDOONG BEACH RESORT TRIP

This is a long overdue post; blame it to my day job which fries up my brain cells every time. But today finally I have my brain and fingers working to caption these photos. These are few of the photographs I had when we went to Siquijor Island on summer. I wrote about our way on how to get to Siquijor Island on this post, you might want to check it out. 

After a day at Coral Cay Resort we decided to rent a multicab to round the island. I was shopping for multicabs to take us around but the locals say that the Tourism Office in Siquijor has issued a memo that rides hired by tourists to tour them around the island ask for a flat rate, so no use shopping for cheap ones. It was P450 in the summer of 2013, I figured this will change as market is volatile. I find this measure a good control for tourists not to be taken advantage of. There are also single motorcycles you can hire around but we opted for a larger carriage since we have kids with us. 

Siquijor Island is known for its stony land, it’s a volcanic island hence this physical properties. As it was summer, it rained less, it dusts much and we had a generous helping of the king sun, it was extremely hot. They say only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun, but mad dog it is, we dared with our sunnies and sarongs on. 

One of our stops was Salagdoong Beach Resort in the town of Maria; it’s a five kilometer ride from the highway. You have to get through this human-made forest before descending to the resort. The trees weren’t as lush but I was told that during rainy season when these trees had recuperated this road is perpetually damp as sun rays can’t get through the pave. I’ve closed my eyes and fancy a scene of a thriller er, romantic movie here. I figured, we have so much picturesque locations in this country yet we’re seeing so much crap in our screens. Anyway, there’s no free pass here you have to pay a toll of P5 per head before finally descending to the resort.

This resort is famous for its floating rock formations and its super fine and white sand.

They constructed a view deck on top of this stone island and standing right here gave me sweaty feet and churned my stomach to death, scared cat went touring, jeje.

If you're into deep sea, open and free diving, meaning 'ala Badjao' thing this lane is made just for you. This boy is a local and obviously a friend from this island of Sebastian and Flounder, I figured he had fun as always with Ariel, he's a 'no-splash' diver, galing!

These guys in kayak made it to the blue waters laughing and singing 'Obladi Oblada' hahaha, so much fun.

The resort 'face' of this place. Sometimes people can get excited and put up structures to disrupt the natural scenery of a place thinking it'll be good for everybody and business of course, but to some it stings their eyes and thought - disavow the wonder that is natural to a certain place.
